As – Arsenic

PRB technology using ZVI has proven to be an effective and affordable means of controlling levels of arsenic in aquifers and other critical water sources however, ZVI can also remove dissolved arsenic from above-ground water. Zero Valent Iron (ZVI) has the redox potential to reduce dissolved arsenate to arsenite, and arsenite to elemental arsenic, which is immobile and remains in the ZVI media medium. Like selenite, arsenite also adsorbs onto iron(iii) oxide for an additional removal mechanism.
