Selenium
The Zero Valent Iron (ZVI) process is particularly adept at removing selenium from groundwater. Redox reactions form solid precipitates with pollutants like dissolved selenate, reducing it to selenite. Further reaction yields elemental selenium, which is captured on the surface of the ZVI media mesh for easy removal. Treated water flows out of the system and may be safely returned to the environment.
